Mark Rose
Jacking vibes, vocal disco house and Latin grooves are the trademark aural weapons for Mark Rose. Taking cues from the likes of Purple Disco Machine, Dom Dollar, and Deepshakerz, his sets take the scenic route through funk/soul, house, tech, and straight out party jammies. Experienced as a mood setter, and one of the most technically proficient DJ’s on the Melbourne circuit, he knows when to shift gears up, when to slow it down, and when to buckle the hell up and floor through bushland.
But where were we?
Mark cut his teeth with a residency at North Gong Sundays, a Wollongong (NSW) party institution and bastion of house that saw over 1000 heads getting down every week on a Sunday afternoon. His technical ability and distinct sound quickly drew the attention of local promoters and in a short span of time found himself with residencies in nearly every major club in Wollongong, and several hotspots in Kings Cross Sydney where he was asked to warm up for a huge cross-section of international acts including Timmy Trumpet, The Stafford Brothers, HookNSling, Bassjackers (NED) Dyed Soundorom (Fra), Illya, Minx, Alex Taylor. To mention a few.
Restless and seeking new inspiration, he relocated to Melbourne in 2012. Wasting no time, quickly began diving into the rich night culture of his adopted home. A successful tilt at the Holliava DJ competition saw him welcomed into the fold.
10 years later, Mark Rose is recognised as one of the premier electronic entertainers in the Melbourne Hotel and Club scene. Between residencies and guest slots, he has performed at almost every major venue in Melbourne, and currently holds down residencies on the main floor of the Garden State Hotel on Fridays and Saturdays where he plays 5 - 7 hour sets to hundreds of party goers every weekend.
